Cinematic

A cinematic is another word for a movie or film, typical of the style in which these movies are made. This page encompasses all the cinematic videos for the League of Legends IP that have been released since its inception. Currently most game cinematics are for League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, 2XKO, as well as lore cinematics for  Runeterra Prime and numerous other skin multiverses. Some entries also include a lore entry on the Universe Wiki, their link is included on their title. Cinematics are narrative animations that take place in the lore of Runeterra. They can be seen either in full cinematics made for the start of new seasons or in trailers made for new content additions or moments related to the game.

There are two ways for cinematic content to be released: either as a season cinematic, or through trailers. Season cinematics are made for the release of a new season. They have a complete focus on the lore of Runeterra. Trailers are made to introduce new content additions or moments related to the game. While not a guaranteed feature for all trailers, some can either contain some cinematic clips or are whole cinematic videos themselves, with a story or plot related to the lore that has some relevance to the content the trailer is about. While not always exact canon, all these cinematic clips and videos do at least have some relevance to Runeterra lore.
