Blade of the Ruined King

Also sometimes referred to as Sanctity, Blade of the King or Soulrender, this Camavoran Zweihänder is the signature longsword of the rightful king of Camavor. The blade usually resides in the Halls of the Ancestors, except when called forth by the rightful ruler or summoned by the priests for the judgment of a new sovereign. Any would-be heir to the throne needed to be soul-bound to this blade, although not every heir survived the ritual of binding. The blade would absorb part of the would-be heir's soul in order to revive them should they receive fatal injuries in battle. When Isolde stabbed Viego in the heart, the magic of the blade tried to revive him simultaneously with the magic of the blessed water, but due to the soul part inside the blade, it could not. The feedback loop overloaded and finally caused the Ruination of Helia.
